We’re having another all-staff meeting today. Last one, last wednesday, resulted in 86 people getting laid off. This one is to talk about the “transition” — yes, my company lays people off, and then figures out how to handle the work with fewer employees — I love the internet industry!
The company I work for was purchased last year, and merged with another company. With the layoffs last week, and the resulting shift of responsiblities, it’s beginning to look like the same company it was a year ago — too bad it was at the expense of some really great people and over 120 million dollars.
