Bandwidth Envy
If you’ve ever used Napster — I haven’t, but I’ve heard — you’ve probably run into people who list themselves as 14.4K connections, but really have a Cable or T1. Nice trick…wicked fast downloads, without the burden of people sucking your bandwidth — who the hell would choose a 14.4K connection to dl from?
so…wouldn’t it figure that the day I decide to pick my Napster-chasity-belt lock, and find the one song in the world I want (Mike Gordon, with the Code Talkers, doing Destiny Unbound!), I get the guy who got confused, and listed himself as T1, when he really has a 14.4K!!! I’m getting a transfer rate of 0.36k/s on my company’s T3!!
When he grows up, he’s going to drive a Corvette…I can just feel it!
