MBA: MasterBatersAnonymous
Why is it that a group of guys (not trying to be sexist — I’m actually talking about a specific group of guys) with MBAs — Masters in Bullshit Appreciation — who have obviously gone to school for a lot longer than I have, studying subjects I fine to be dull, boring, and a complete waste of time, seem to think that changing their business model once or twice a week! is a good idea, and that the people under them will just accept it all and go along for the ride?
ok..lots of words, but I’m pretty pissed off! Yesterday’s staff meeting was the biggest puddle of business vomit I’ve ever encountered in the last four years at this company.
When the layoffs came, the CEO and COO promised “communication” — there’s a good idea — but so far it’s been communication about the process of figuring it all out, and there are no answers, just a lot of “hey, I was in the shower this morning, and I had a great idea…this is our business model now, and people will buy it because I managed to remember it this long, so it has to be good”.
I feel like I work in a satire, a parody, of dot-coms, because what I don’t get is if there are so many dot-coms failing out there, and all for the same reasons and mistakes, why isn’t anyone learning!? The big, stinkin’ cheeses were in that meeting yesterday, slinging the shit, totally oblivious to the blank, disturbed looks in the crowd of employees. In the end, they all rejoiced, job well done, and we, the employees went back to our desks to plot revenge, dream of quitting, and generally question how these people got so far, make so much money, manage to breathe, and why we let them get under our skin.
