New Book: Dealing with Minorthird For DUMMIES
So, aside from my love for icy diet pepsi, I have a thing for Dunkin’ Donuts coffee — large iced hazelnut coffee with skim milk and sugar. Now, here’s my problem: I’ve worked for my company for almost five years, and I’ve been going to the same DD the whole time. Every morning, I order the same thing: a large iced hazelnut with skim milk and sugar. I’m telling you, every morning I do this — sometimes, I even do it in the afternoon, too! And almost every morning I’ve got to spell out my order for them, and here are a few of the common hangups:
- “No, I said ‘large’.
- “Iced!”
- “Hazelnut”
- “No, I want skim milk, not cream”
- “This has cream in it”
- “Yes, it has cream in it. I watched you pump cream in it!”
- “Yes, I want sugar” (*this is my favorite. It’s like I want skim milk so I shouldn’t want sugar*)
Almost every day!
Why is it that hard? I guess it might not be a standard order, and most people order a “large regular”, but this is a job where you “serve the customer” so maybe it would be a good idea to listen to the customer!
