MLB Reflections: Month 1

so…the first full month of baseball is in the books. The Red Sox are enduring a twisted, mangled, car-wreck of a bullpen, but otherwise, things are okay.

shit talkin’ gaunlet:
minorthird: 2
twodolla: 0

it wasn’t pretty, but it got the job done…

and what is the hell is going on with Ramiro Mendoza? Do you think if we put the Spankmees’ organization on a deck of playing cards, we’d be able to get to the bottom on this? This guy sucks!! We’re paying him $2,900,000!! Shea’s only getting $407,500! Give me a break! I’ve already traded Mendoza off of my MVP 2003 team…and I haven’t lost a game! It’s the principle of the matter!
Live/Dead“;?>

looking back at my predictions, here’s how I stand (current leader in brackets; predicted leaders’ games behind in prens):

AL East: Boston Red Sox [New York Spankmees] (3)
AL Central: Minnesota Twins [Kansas City Royals] (6)
AL West: Oakland A’s [Oakland is tied with Seattle for first] (-)
AL Wild Card: New York Spankmees [Boston Red Sox] (-)
NL East: Atlanta Braves [Atlanta is tied with Montreal (no, really!)] (-)
NL Central: Houston Astros [Chicago Cubs] (3.5)
NL West: Arizona Diamondbacks [San Francisco Giants] (8)
NL Wild Card: L.A. Dodgers [Atlanta or Montreal] (6)

AL: Red Sox [I’m still feelin’ it]
NL: Diamondbacks [not so much]

World Series Winner: RED SOX! [it’s my site, I can predict what I want!]

AL MVP: Manny Ramirez [still too early to tell]
NL MVP: Jim Thome [still too early to tell]

AL Cy Young: Pedro Martinez [eh…]
NL Cy Young: Randy Johnson [not quite!]

AL Rookie: Hideki Matsui [Godzilla? More like ‘God, what’s all the hype about!?’ Two words: Rocco. Baldelli.]
NL Rookie: Brandon Larson [let’s face it…who cares about the NL, anyway?]

Who to watch: [”Samson Simpson, I stand by my word!“]
Rocco Baldelli (Tampa Bay)
and
Shea Hillenbrand (Boston)

first month of baseball hasn’t been wonderful in Met-world. Payroll of $3459837459372.99 and they can’t get it together.

i just keep reminding myself how dull it is in winter with no baseball. and then i drink. lol.

glad the sox are hanging in there.
