mmmm….boycotted donut

so..you’ve all heard: Massachusetts got a Krispy Kreme. In Medford. Whoopity doo!

I enjoy donuts. However, what I saw last night has made me even more of a lifelong Dunkin Donuts man…

There was a line of cars, a quarter mile long! Snaking out of the parking lot, on the Rt. 16! And there were people lined up, out the door! Some dork camped out over night to be the first one to get a donut!! A donut!!!

As much as I like donuts, I don’t like people, and the last thing you will find me doing is waiting on a line for a Krispy Kreme donut!

Doesn’t it figure, the one time I’m ready to lead a boycott, nobody is going to join…

    i bet the “hot light” was on… and for the first three freaking months the thing is open, that stupid light will be on all. the. time.

    I know if flies in the face of Krispy Kreme-heads everywhere, but I honestly don’t see what the big deal is. It’s a donut. Unless it comes with a hooker and some illegal drugs, the Krispy Kreme donut craze seems overrated to me.

    It’s all hype, they do it to boost sales.

    They’ll do more business at that one store in the first month then the local D&D will do all year.

    Plus, that old guy that was first in line got a years supply of donuts for his troubles. He’s retired, and since he’s probably bored and sick of his wife standing in line is a good thing.

    I’m with you, Jay. I’m a diehard DD fan, and no alteration in donut temperature is ever gonna change that!! Give me kickass coffee and a lowfat blueberry muffin from DD any day.

    And Rich, I don’t know what’s wrong with the DD’s in your area, but ours here are 24-hour and they’re always hopping. :)

    i’m with you!

    i am sticking with dd. besides…does krispy kreme have white chocolate rasberry scones? i think not.

    (and we won’t even mention how much the spelling bugs me. almost as much as the philly phanatic around here! feh!)
