Elvis was never in the building

Yesterday being the anniversary of Elvis’ death, and Skip being a big Elvis fan, we went to an “Elvis Extravaganza” (read: a couple of fake Elvises shaking it for people who didn’t get the memo: Elvis is dead!). People were losing their minds! “Elvis” would get off stage and walk into the crowd and women were running from all over to get a kiss — a kiss from a guy named Brian “Elvis” Smith, most likely.

The band was good, and I got to hear my two favorite Elvis songs: Suspicious Minds and Promised Land.

We all had a good time…but it might have had more to do with the crowd than because of “Elvis”.

People who fall all over an Elvis impersonator really frighten me.

Suspicious Minds is one of my faves too. I think it’s a “fat Elvis” song.

it’s totally a fat Elvis song!

They did the show in chronological order, with two impersonators switching off, in the different Elvis costumes.

I was really bummed that fat Elvis didn’t come out with the cape that lights up
