that would be 2100…1 1/4″ drywall screws…screwed into the subfloor underlayment…by me
The master bedroom renovation project is in full swing: carpet removed, panelling pulled, plaster removed (with exception of the ceiling…tomorrow’s task), 3/4 of the lathing strips removed, and the floor is now level
When the extension was added onto the master bedroom, it was done above the front porch. The porch had a roof with a slight pitch to it, and they never leveled out the extension floor. This caused a drop of 1 3/8″ over a span of 8′ — it doesn’t sound like much, but it was really noticable. The orginal part of the room had a drop of 5/8″ over 8′.
Both sides were repectively built up using 1/4″ SurePly underlayment; 5 levels on the extension and 1 on the original part. Then they were covered with one level of underlayment. Many screws and much adhesive was used.
The end result? The floor is now level to 1/8″ on each end.
Pictures to come…
