can you hear me now? No? Good!

With new tunnel, longer dead zone for cellphones

Oh no! A whole 6 miles where you can’t get cellphone service!? Whatever will people do?

I could see if they were concerned for the emergency notification needs of cellphone users, but they’re not. The last place they should let you talk on a cellphone while driving is in a tunnel — people in and around Boston suck at driving to begin with, and then add a cellphone (while they’re probably eating a burger, reading the paper, putting on lipstick, shaving, and changing the CD), and you’ve got the makings of the the entire tunnel being filled to the rim with accidents.
