let us raise a glass to a non-existant day
so…today is leap day, and it is time for: a day in the life: leap day
The project calls for doing “something you wouldn’t normally do,” but my day is planned already, so…here’s the bent: I got up an hour earlier than normal, so even if I do “typical” things they’re not at typical times!
9PM-ish
Time for a well-deserved beer! By the looks of the picture, maybe I’ve had a few already…
7PM-ish
Erika tested out the new paint for the front hall.
5PM-ish
Over the last couple of months, our water have been smelling heavily of chlorine…time for a Brita. Problem fixed in less than 5 minutes.
4PM-ish
I finally put up the light fixture in the half-bath — it’s only been 2 months!
1PM-ish
Clothes shopping? Atypical. Two pairs of pants at the Gap for $1.97 each? Leap day is like some bizarre fold in the space-time continuum!!!
11AM-ish
A trip to Home Depot. Normally typical. Not today, however — it was a trip to HD that cost less than $100!!! Woohoo!
9AM-ish
Ahhh…coffee the sunday paper, Bob Vila…
8AM-ish
Starting the day off early AND atypical: I washed the dishes and the stove. I never clean the kitchen! (Me: “I did something out of the ordinary.” Erika: “Right, you never clean the kitchen! Oh, did I say that out loud?”)

Don’t worry about the kitchen cleaning thing. If you typically never clean the kitchen and Erika is still putting up with you, you can rest assured that she really, truly loves you.
Believe me, I know
