Tuesday, March 30th, 2004

It Tuesday, and I’m on two ends of the spectrum today…enjoy…
Cypress Hill - ‘Insane in da Membrane’
Dickedy Jones - Funk That! (Every time I hear this song, I can’t stop thinking of Beavis making fun of it…)
Lucas - ‘Lucas With The Lid Off’
Phish With Santana - ‘Funky Bitch’ (I think Trey totally schools Santana in […]

weekend wrap up

Monday, March 29th, 2004

I had a great weekend, even though it started a bit rough…
At 4:15PM on Friday, I found a bug in the latest revision to my project at work that was charging customers at the wrong time — like 7 days early. It was only going on for 3 days, but still…it’s about $6K that we […]

you know you’re getting old when…

Monday, March 29th, 2004

you’re mad that a class has been cancelled.
Gone are the days when that meant being about to goof off. I paid for the class. And a cancelled class means that I just travelled 30 minutes out of my way, only to travel back…to go to work, no less!

computer shopping…at work

Wednesday, March 24th, 2004

so…during the last round of layoffs, I acquired a new desktop at work. It’s not the fastest machine in the world, but it has a burner in it, which helps to pass the days.
anyway…the machine was just upgraded to XP, and one of the techs came by yesterday to drop off more RAM — now, […]

and they pay you how much?

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2004

I’m in the middle of a meeting with a VP from another division of the company, and a coworker and I have noted that he has said “synergy” or “synergistic” 4 times in 17 minutes!!!
is this what I need to do to increase my station in the working world?

Please give me a raise as I […]

no good deed goes unpunished

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2004

so…I think the end is near for Walker. No, he’s not dying…well, not any faster than nature wants him to — but we’ll see is he makes it through the day.
I’m conflicted.

I was never a cat person, and now I can safely say that I am. I love having Walker around when he’s affectionate — […]

Fantasy Baseball…last call

Monday, March 22nd, 2004

There’s a week and a half until the baseball season opens. I’ve organized fantasy baseball league on Yahoo. Everything is shaping up nicely, but we could use some more players. I’m talking about you!
There are 6 teams so far:
me
Wendy
Amytart
Druzba
Jay
Rick
It’s a head-to-head league (to help increase the shit talkin’). The draft will be a combination live/auto […]

Monday Morning Quarter-in-the-Jukebox

Monday, March 22nd, 2004

I might have a touch of a vacation hangover, but this should see me through…
Jimi Hendrix - ‘Bold as Love’ (”my yellow in this case is not so mellow…”)
Jimi Hendrix - ‘Wait Until Tomorrow’ (”click, bang, what a hang. Your daddy just shot poor me”)
Phish - ‘Halley’s Comet’
Phish - ‘NICU’
These two songs are from […]

The Minorthird/Amytart March Madness Pool Update

Monday, March 22nd, 2004

ummm…what is there to update? Maybe the fact that I suck!
Ok…there was no way to predict (much less pick) the upsets that came this weekend in the NCAA tournament.
The curse of the 5/12 matchup
Pacific (12) over Providence (5)
Manhattan (12) over Florida (5)
The first (and second) seeds have been sown
Alabama (8) over Stanford (1)
Xavier (7) […]

curse of the first day back

Monday, March 22nd, 2004

so…first day back in the swing of things after a week-plus vacation…should go smoothly, right?
heh…
Started off strong: got up early, worked out, and was feeling everything click. Then I lost about 10-15 minutes somewhere between getting dressed and making my lunch for the day.
We’ve been living out of a suitcase and the car for […]
