opening day predictions 2004

so…it’s that time of year again! The Red Sox open their season Sunday night in Baltimore — the Spankmees and Tampa have already played two games in Japan, but I only want to pay attention to the one the Spanks lost!

I’m feeling really good about this season…maybe it’s because we’re going to a crazy amount of games this year!

AL East: Boston Red Sox
AL Central: Minnesota Twins
AL West: Anaheim Angels
AL Wild Card: New York Spankmees
NL East: Florida Marlins
NL Central: Houston Astros
NL West: San Diego Padres
NL Wild Card: San Francisco Giants

AL: Red Sox
NL: Houston Astros

World Series Winner: RED SOX!

play ball!

AL: Red Sox? Are you sure you didn’t mean the Twins?

wow, you’re picking the Friars (as they’re affectionately known here) to win the west?

dude. how can you not pick the Cubs for a playoff spot. I’ll give you three reasons - Wood, Prior, Maddux. like, hello!

    Silly BoSox man…

I point you to a couple of images illustrating why the Red Sox will not win the World Series.

    I liked the pictures.

I was pointing out to someone today that it’s interesting that the Soxs turn down A-Rod only to have their star shortstop on the DL for a month or so.

    KB/Rich:

why do you always gotta be bringing up old shit!?

Manny, A-Rod, Nomar: eh, what are you going to do. A-Rod ain’t all that…

Grady? come on…he’s off at a tractor convention somewhere.

    The Babe? The Babe’s dead.

Oh, the Astros will never make it that far. This is Houston - all of our teams choke. (That whole basketball thing in the 90s was a fluke.)

If you’re right, I’ll be thrilled, but I don’t think it will happen this year…
