I sort glass…that’s my job
It is my job to architect and build meaningful and solid soultions. This means that when someone comes to me, or my team, with an idea I need to look at it with a critical eye. Unfortunately, this has given me the reputation of being negative.
Me? Negative?
Nooooooo!
The problem is that all the ideas are asinine! I shit you not that I just sat through a meeting where the big idea (that’s going to “save the company”) is to charge for access to a repository of files…oh, and give a 14-day free trial to it!
Am I the only person who thinks this is a bad idea? At work I am.
Why would you buy the cow if you can get the milk for free?
My boss just joked: “They decided to do this because it’s opposite of what you would suggest. Ha Ha.”
I couldn’t help but to reply: “You mean that they decided to do the opposite of what a successful company would do.”
Yup. Said it out loud.
Serenity now!!!!

They will do exactly what I did when I signed up for the free trial of eMusic. I found a fast connection and downloaded everything they had that I wanted, then canceled the subscription.

I find that at work, I’m the person who talks without thinking. But you know me…I’m so shy..it hardly ever happens!!!!

Can “Architect” really be used that way?
