feed this!

Tuesday, November 30th, 2004

so…Christine has pointed out that my rss feed is not working in Bloglines for some reason.
For me to say that I am a neophyte when it comes to RSS would be an overstatement — hell, I didn’t even know that the RSS fraternity was holding a rush event!
As I’ve just made the conversion from […]

Military recruiters target schools strategically
I saw this in the page this morning, and I found it very interesting. The military has a strategy to enlist high school students, and approaches the entire thing from a hard sell marketing approach. Now, I’m not retard, and I’m not ignorant, and it’s not a surprise to me that […]

spring: when a man’s attention turns to school?

Sunday, November 28th, 2004

so…it’s that time of the semester to select my schedule for the spring semester. I’m only taking two classes this semester — I say only as if I normally take more, but I don’t — I’m taking Calculus I and Hydrology.
It’s becoming more and more difficult to pick classes around my work schedule. I’ve taken […]

today’s to do list

Sunday, November 28th, 2004

so…I figured that with the last 4 days of complete carbo-loading I should be able to tackle the endurance trials of a Sunday:

Finish spackling
Grocery shopping
Sears, for last minute paint/sanding stuff (almost didn’t get done due to power outage at the store)
What-is-wrong-with-America-Mart, for some school supplies for Erika (Erika decided to do this herself)
Watch the Patriots […]

gettin’ busy in the bedroom

Sunday, November 28th, 2004

so…we’ve been in the process of remodeling our master bedroom since we moved in, just over one year ago. We started off strong, with my promises of having it done by Thanksgiving — true that was Thanksgiving 2003, and it’s still not done as of Tday 2004, but…once things got cold and the walls were […]

what do you mean? Cheese isn’t supposed to flow through my veins?

Sunday, November 28th, 2004

aahhhh…I think I’m beginning to be able to breathe again without laboring against my all-of-a-sudden-too-tight-clothes. Man did we EAT on thanksgiving!
We had a full house: Erika and I, my mom and step-father, Erika’s parents, and Alisa and Keegan.
The menu:
Various cheeses and crackers
Veggies and at least 4 types of dip
Tortillini Escarole soup
Carrot bread
Corn bread
Salad
Lasagna
Broccoli Quiche (but […]

you mean writing the list isn’t the end of the project?

I am disorganized most of the time. Every now and again I will try to getting a grip on things, and that lasts about 2 weeks, and then I just slip back into my old bad habits.
Maybe these could help:
Getting things done
The Cornell Note Taking System
Project Management Checklists
(as seen at Christine’s)

2 is the new zero

Doug Flutie got sacked a few too many times:
The 2004 Eagles are 8-2 and need a win Saturday to become the first BC team since 1984 to reach one of the major bowl games.
“They could be undefeated,’’ Flutie said.
ummm…suuuure they could be undefeated, but they’re not…

that’ll show me…

so…I screwed up my shoulder yesterday when I was breaking in to our house.
I woke up this morning with a weird ache inside my right collar bone. It’s like a dull, constant pain, and when I take a semi-deep breathe I have a brief moment of relief which slides into glancing-shot-to-the-nuts pain.
