yes WP has a blacklist ..its in options then discussions in your adminCP… theres also more spam help at the WP support forums.
I am curious were you also spammed at MT?

Oh dear Lord. I had something like 700 or so when I forgot to put a good spam word list in place, but 4500? UGH!
By the way, at ScriptyGoddess there is a FABULOUS “select all to delete” plugin to make deleting the moderated spam comments much easier.
