everyone loves salisbury steak, right?

so…at work we have a group of sales people that all have lunch at the same time every day. It’s like they have a lunch bell or whistle in their section of the office — when it goes off they all queue up in the kitchen for the microwave. Now, we’re only a company of 30 or so and we have two kitchens but if you haven’t gotten your food in the microwave before 11:59 AM you’re pretty much screwed until 12:45 PM.

What are they cooking? Lean Cuisines. All of ‘em. So we’ve named them the Lean Cuisiners.

They all wait for each other, too! Imagine eight people rushing to heat up their lunches only to stand around after the fact waiting for the last one in the group…how could any of their meals still be warm after that?

Today, there seems to be a bit of a descension in the ranks though: someone brought in a Swanson’s Hungry Man Salisbury Steak dinner! And I think it was one of the women!

I’m suprised you haven’t experienced the lunch time creep. Where they start slipping down early to make sure they are in first.

In my office, it’s sort of the same thing - at least on Mondays. But by Tuesday all the fatso catsos have returned to their fast food and their double super extra stuffed baked potatos. So at least the microwave is free - but god help you if you think you’re watching anything other than Springer on the kitchen t.v., because it just aint happening.
