MVP 2005 Baseball: Blogfruit League Update -or- the schooling of a young twodolla ho
so…when we last left our young twodolla ho she had be used and abused…and last night was no different!
Actually, the games last night were pretty close and even…with maybe one exception: I won, again, twice.
Assisted fielding must go, as shown in game 4.

Game 3:
The Minorthird Red Sox 5 @ The Twodolla Twin(k)s 3
Wade Miller pitched 8 strong innings, giving up 3 runs, while Johan Santana took the loss at home. Manny Ramirez (2) and David Ortiz started the game off strong, driving in 3 combined runs. Twin(k)s’ pretty boy Joe Mauer was attempting to prove something with 2 RBIs and a stolen base before Miller plunked him and put him in his place. Torii (what kind of name is that) Hunter came up injured with a sprained PCL on a stolen base attempt.

Game 4:
The Twodolla Twin(k)s 3 @ The Minorthird Red Sox 5
Different day, different town, same result. A strong outing by the Sox almost turned ugly in the 7th inning, when an assisted fielding glitch left an overthrow to second rolling into center without attention, allowing 2 runs to score, including an inside the park HR by Luis Rivas. This mishap only got the hopes of the ho high enough to really cause some brusing from the resulting fall; errors and weak steal attempts nailed the coffin shut. Joe Mauer took offense to being plunked twice by Matt Clement and exhibited little restraint in charging the mound in the 9th, resulting in Clement, NOT Mauer, being ejected (due to an earlier warning). Keith Foulke came in for the save.

Don’t blame your fielding issues on the game!
I WILL win sometime, someday. I’m not sure how, but I will!

Should be good to go for the action sometime at the end of this week, weekend or beginning of next week-ish. Prepare for the Houston Astruzbas to kick some ass.

I’m hoping it comes today so we can play it while we’re snowed into our house this weekend. Watch Out….the Seattle Sassiness Mariners are going to show you about baseball
(ok, so I suck…but at least I can talk trash)

If I were the president of EA Sports University, I might be tempted to suggest, in response to Amy and Wendy - and while at a forum for women’s issues - that maybe women don’t have the proper genetic predisposition for high achievement at MVP 2005 or Playstation 2 in general.

hmmm…let’s see…if I recall, last year you didn’t seem all that predisposed for high achievement either, son…I mean, er, daughter…
