MVP 2005 Baseball: Please avert your eyes from this roadside massacre…

so…I played a couple of spring training games against everyone’s favorite ho last night. I left my notes at home, but I’ll make sure to add the play-by-play later. Let’s just say it wasn’t pretty; not pretty to the tune of a 12-2 rout in the first game, and a near perfect game on what could have been a promising Hummer Boy™ Bobble Head Night (yet another loss, 2-0).

Edit: Here’s how it happened…

Game #1
The Twodolla Twin(k)s 2 @ Minorthird Red Sox 12
Oi! Talk about your all time slug fests! The Sox pounded the ball, racking up 12 runs on 14 hits, while the Twin(k)s made contact 12 times, but, as expected, could only muster up 2 pathetic little runs. David Wells pitched a complete game, with 6 Ks. Kevin Millar was a HR away from hitting for the cycle, going 4-for-4 with 2 singles, a double and a triple. Edgar Renteria hit an in the park home run, which in all fairness was due to Wendy’s inability to play manual fielding (she knows that she should practice). The Twin(k)s MVP was Joe Mauer, who scored both runs, and stole a base (after getting hit by a pitch).

Game #2
Minorthird Red Sox 2 @ The Twodolla Twin(k)s 0
In an attempt to woo back some of their fans, the Twin(k)s held Hummer Boy™ Bobble Head Night; unfortunately, that was the only highlight for the fan, unless you count the perfect game that Schilling took two outs into the seventh inning. Of course it was Joe Mauer who spoiled it all, but he got his in the ninth with a 4-seamer to the hip. Justin Morneau took offense to being hit by a pitch and that his boyfriend did too and charged the mound: Ejected.
