it’s a kid show, really
so…Sammy loves to fall alseep while watching “Little Einsteins” — man, what ever happened to my staunch “no TV” feelings. This morning I put on the “Ring Around the Planet” episode. As much as he (read: I) likes the show, I can’t help but make comments:
[responding to one of the characters saying “Look! There are ring around Saturn!”]
Me: “Kind of like the ring around Uranus.”
Man! Uranus jokes never get old!
…later…
Erika: “How many rings does Saturn have?”
Me: “Ummm…eight…or fifteen?”
Erika: “Did we ever learn that, or are you just pulling that out of your ass?”
[Do you know how hard it is to resist a Uranus joke with a lead-in like that!?!?!]
Me: I just looked it up: seven rings. Like I said, eight minus fifteen. Seven rings.
