a dollar short and a day, or 30, late
so…it’s Election Day and something dawned on me this morning (wait for the weak pun…):
as I was walking from North Station through the courtyard of the courthouse I could see the first rays of sun shining of the gold dome of the State House on Beacon Hill…maybe the first rays of the last days of a Republican-held corner-office, after 15 years…maybe the first rays of a new era of a Governor that might just serve his entire term without abandoning the state to stump for his national campaign goals…
and then, as the sun continued to rise, I could see it, plain as day, almost mocking me, saying “how come you are just noticing me now?”…
a hugh Chris Gabrielli banner hang off the side of a building at the base of the Hill, leftover from his failed primary run…
I bet he’s one of those guys that leaves his Christmas lights up all year long, too…just getting a jump on next year!
