the one where night quick fades into day

so…going into work yesterday is throwing me off: my mind knows that the second day after my mid-week day off is Friday.

But it’s Thursday.

my computer woes from Monday resulted in, not one, but two new computers.

I guess my team was on the list for new machines anyway, so I just jumped to the front of the line. The first machine was a placeholder while they got the developer image finalized.

New computers don’t carry the same joy now as a contractor. It’s not “my” machine, and the client is pretty strict about goofing off and all things idle, so there is very little customization going on, short of shortcuts and favorite network places.

Yesterday I heard something about Barry “I have no knowledge of anyone sticking something in my ass” Bonds’ new, $16+ million, one-year deal with the Giants: he wants his full salary guaranteed in the off-chance he is indicted on perjury charges.

Doesn’t that sound like an admission of guilt?

Even if the MBTA can’t put together a working website for slightly less then the price for a small island in the South Pacific, the renovations at The Garden for the North Station train platform can moving along quickly.

It’s kind of weird to actually see the changes happening. I think in most situations, expansions of this size tend to take place behind a barrier. But, here you can see where and how the money is being spent…
