the one where I would start drinking if this train had a bar car
so…Friday. Finally.
Sammy has been sick this week which means that Erika has been getting up with him, all night, every night. I think they got up at 1:15 am, and I found them both downstairs, half asleep at 4:30 am.
So…Friday. Finally. Erika can get some sleep and I can take the night watch.

My ear has been hurting for a couple days — I don’t think it’s a cold-sick thing, just a cold-outside thing — so I’m not listening to music this morning on the train.
Man, these people are loud!!
Actually, it’s just this one guy. Just one, overly-friendly, overly-chipper guy.
Maybe his ears are clogged. Or, maybe he was involved in some worksite accident and he swallowed a megaphone.

yesterday I saw woman, standing on the Green Line platform at North Station, holding an unlit cigarette in her fingers. She was getting on to the train — it’s not like she was getting prepared to go outside.
She sat with that cigarette, waiting and on guard, for at least four stops.
Does it really take that long to get a butt out of the pack that she needed to prepare that far in advance, just so she could make sure she didn’t have to breathe a cubic nanometer of non-smoking air?
Talk about a nic-fit.

A rolling backpack, with an extendable handle, while being practical and good for your back, does nothing good for the appearance of an otherwise tough-looking construction worker.

Yesterday, I saw a headline that read something like: “Asian allies back Bush plan.”
I could only think of two things:
- Of course they back the plan! It doesn’t call for sending 20000 extra troops from their countries!
- They’re all going to be upset when they realize that the “Bush plan” has nothing to do with porn.

I think that one day a month, maybe the second Thursday, and third Tuesday, alternating each month, should be “wear sweatpants to work” day.
I think drawstrings could be the ultimate field-leveller.

I don’t have tivo so I didn’t get to watch Earl again but did get to relive it when I got to work this morning.
Your comments about the train reminded me of something that happened when I was in Boston the other week. We were on the T headed downtown one morning and this guy sat down in the row in front of us. He put his duffel bag on the floor next to him. He was on the aisle seat and had a brand new cup of coffee. (you guys have a ton of Dunkin Donuts up there by the way) Anyway, we hit a series of big curves and he slid off the seat over his duffel bag onto the floor. The whole time holding his coffee so it wouldn’t spill. He was sitting on the floor spinning holding the cup up in the air for a while. Funny stuff. There was this old chinese man that just thought it was the funniest thing he had seen.
Have a good weekend.
