the one where I fill the swimming pool one dixie cup at a time

so…one of the constant challenges of dealing with a baby with a stomach virus is dehydration.

By early, early, early yesterday morning, Sammy knew he wanted soemthing to drink but, I suspect, he knew that it was going to hurt going in AND hurt coming out again, so he just flat out refused to drink.

One mom told me: “the dry diapers are kinda scary, but it will pass. You just need to find any way possible to get the Pedialite in them.”

Erika stayed up all night Tuesday into Wednesday morning, giving Sammy 3 mL doses of watered-down Pedialite using his oral medicine syringes.

By 5 PM yesterday, Sammy was hip to all the tricks, so I was reduced to using a drinking straw as a dropper to get him to take some white grape juice.

Whatever gets the job done, right?
