the one where I showed up at the exam without any clothes on
so…the great experiment has ended before it really began.
I decided that I was going to start driving to work, instead of taking the train, in an effort to work more billable hours in a week. 5 more, to be exact.
I figured out all of the costs and balanced them against taking the train, and still looked to come out ahead by about $750 each month.
Well, it’s not possible to get those hours. I didn’t account for the fact that the garage doesn’t open until 6am, and that shaves 15 minutes off of the day, And the act of parking, and making my way into the office takes 10 minutes, which leaves me billing an extra 45 minutes a day.
The 2-hour loss really changes the margins quite a bit!
Oh, and add to take the fact that I am not cut out for rush hour stop-and-go — I nearly got into an accident on my second day and that was enough to send my ass back to the train!
