so…nothing like a whirlwind trip to Long Island, and a late-night Red Sox-Yankees game to make it almost impossible to get up on a Monday morning.
That was an incredible fuckin’ game!
Sammy woke up just in time to see the back-to-back-to-back-to-back home runs; considering that it is only the fifth time it’s happened, it cool that he got to see it (not that I think a 14-month old will remember that, but was cool for me).
*interesting side note: last night Manny, J.D. Drew, Lowell, and Varitek connected for four in a row. The last time it happened (last year) Drew was one of the four then, too.
*another side note: It was Manager Terry Francona’s birthday last night…his father was one of the four during the second time it happened, back in either ‘61 or ‘62.
Sammy also woke up in the next inning for Mike Lowell’s 3-run shot.
