it’s not as bright out at 6AM as it seems at 5

so…

I installed the downstairs AC last night, with the drafted help from my neighbor Mark.

There was some cursing, swearing, and cussing, and some duct tape, but it’s in, and it works.

Now here’s hoping for a smoother installation of the one in our bedroom.

this really goes without saying, but I am ever the one to overstate the obvious: my wife is always right!

I woke up at 1:30AM, and in my half asleep, sleep-deprived state convinced myself that the alarm clock said 4:30AM. Erika talked me out of getting ready for work, and talked me into setting my alarm for 5:00AM.

I feel pretty good this morning — the extra hour of sleep, plus the extra time getting ready, is nice.

Gentlemen: if you are wearing a nice suit…hell, if you’re wearing a cheap suit…if you have so sort of tailored wool and shirt and tie on…put some real shoes on! Don’t wear your New Balance cross-trainers! It’s cute — maybe even a little sexy — when the ladies do it, but you just look like a clown!

Did I mention that my wife is always right?

The later train fills up a lot faster than I’m used to…

Two stops have filled the car more than my entire ride in on the 5:30…

I’m burying this well below the fold:
today’s weight: 230
target weight: 210
magic number: 20

Are you up for some friendly competition? I’m at 234, but I would really like to see 200 again. Doing it on my own just isn’t cutting it, but maybe out losing you is just the motivation I need. :)

Hey, so how about making any competition retroactive? :) I saw 255 but am stuck at 229 now. I just stopped drinking a lot of beer every night and started drinking sweet tea instead of soda. Now, if I could just motivate myself to exercise.

I’m game. How do you want to work it? Are we looking at a fixed time to lose the weight, or just someone to be accountable to?

First official weigh in this Friday morning. Check progress every Friday for the next 12 weeks. We can either do it by percent or actual weight loss.
